A Short Bio

Bryan Carr is a professional trumpet player, arranger/copyist, and educator currently living in Wyalusing, PA. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Mansfield University of PA and a Master's degree in Education, Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. Bryan has studied trumpet with H. Michael Galloway, Daniel Foster, and Mathew Swihart. Following his bachelors degree program, in 2015, Bryan spent a year teaching elementary general music consisting of grades K-5, in Las Vegas, Nevada. While living there, Bryan also played in multiple professional settings and private venues, alongside many professional musicians. Bryan was most recently a faculty member of Wyalusing Area School District, where he served as the districts Director of Bands, including elementary, middle, and high school bands, as well as jazz band and marching band. While living in Wyalusing, he has performed with a number of local and regional bands and ensembles, including serving in the principal trumpet chair of the Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra. Bryan also enjoys playing for most of the region's school musicals.Bryan's collegiate music experiences include performing in the principal trumpet position of the Mansfield University Wind Ensemble, lead trumpet chair with the MU Jazz Ensemble, including a European tour in Scotland and London. As a member of the MU Jazz Ensemble for his entire collegiate tenure, Bryan had the pleasure of backing up guest artists such as John Mosca, Chris Vadala, Denis DiBlasio, The New York Voices, as well as playing alongside the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
Bryan also served as a solo cornetist with the MU Brass Brand, who competed in the North American Brass Band Association's competition in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The band was awarded 2nd place overall in their category, using a contest piece that featured Bryan on cornet. Bryan was also a member of the University's Concert Choir, Festival Chorus, and Orchestra.
